A $10,000 prize awaits a Missouri farm family that’s selected as one of the best examples of conservation and stewardship. Missouri Farmers Care executive director Ashley McCarty says nominations are open for the Aldo Leopold Conservation Award.
McCarty says applicants will also be judged on communication, innovation, and support of the ecological community surrounding their farm. She notes that many quality nominees were submitted in the first two years of the program.
Nominations may be submitted through the Missouri Farmers Care website until July 12. Finalists will be named in November, with the winner announced next winter.
