SOUTHWEST MO FARM FIRST TO RECEIVE AUDUBON CERTIFICATION

One of the three finalists for this year’s Leopold Conservation Award in Missouri is the state’s first operation to have its beef certified by the Audubon Society as produced on a bird-friendly ranch.  David Haubein of Dade County said the certification says more about his farm rather than the beef.

Haubein said he pursued certification because more consumers are asking questions about where and how their food is produced.

David Haubein spoke about his farm’s conservation practices during last month’s Missouri Livestock Symposium in Kirksville.
